Editorial - "You are the colours you choose and those reflect your Being's needs."

April 20, 2007

We heard of Vicky Wall, who was a remarkable woman, born and raised in England, as a seventh child of a seventh child. She drew upon the mystical tradition of the Kaballah, and the medical and healing qualities of living plants that she learned from her father.

Twenty-five years ago, on a significant night, Vicky Wall could not sleep. She had been praying for guidance, trying to understand her mission in life. On that night, she received the message, "Go and divide the waters my child!" Vicki found those words strange.

"Divide the waters? What waters?" she thought, and tossed and turned in bed, trying to sleep. The following night, meditating on the same question, what she heard surprised her. "Divide the waters, my child." Vicky was puzzled. "What are we thinking about here? I'm not Moses! I'm blind, only 40 percent of my heart works and I am nearly seventy years old. So who on Earth would I be leading into what Promised Land?"

That night the first Equilibrium bottles were born. She named them Balance oils at first, because the two fractions of the liquids were so balanced and divided equally in the colourful bottles. Later the name changed to Equilibrium, when we discovered the greater quality of balance that they offer.

Healing with colour, crystals, and plants is not a new science. It has been there for us for thousands of years, there are records in history of people using the energies of colour and light in Egypt and in the Greek healing systems. Some people think that even Atlantis and Lemuria had the same knowledge. The ancient wisdom of Feng Shui uses colour and today our fashion designers understand the power of colour. Modern psychology also understands that colours have a profound effect on us. Even the insurance industry recognizes the clues that colour offers about who we are. Did you know, that some insurance companies may charge you more if you happen to purchase a red car, and not a blue one?

To discover and understand more about yourself, it is enough just to acknowledge your chosen colours. Does this idea sound new at first? Just think about it. What are you wearing today? Green? Do you feel a need for space? Would you like to have a nice conversation with somebody? Is there something in your heart to share? Or black? Would you like to be left alone today?

Our daily mood changes, just as our colours. But trust me, if there is anything serious going on in your Soul, it absolutely shows in your colour choices.

The system of Aura-Soma (Aura means light, force, energy in Sanskrit, Soma means body in Greek) is based on those Equilibrium bottles, created by Vicky Wall that night. All bottles contain two fractions of crystal-energised plant and herb substances that give them radiant, vibrating colours. The colours capture your sight, attract your attention, and immediately tap into your Inner Wisdom inviting you to play, create and express yourself. The bottles are instantly attractive, once you have seen them, you will know what I mean.

Being physically blind, Vicky Wall's inner sight was still strong and awake, so she saw people coming to her with the same energy pattern or "aura-colour" that they had chosen. At first, she did not know what to say to people when they felt the urge to take home and apply the oils on their bodies, so she waited for feedback on their effect.

The reports amazed her. Someone reported resolving their depression; another person talked about feeling "worthy" again. Long carried conflicts were solved and miraculous healings happened.

Very soon after the "birth," she realised she needed help to find out more about these bottles, and so she invited scientists and experts of colour into her process.

So it happened, that a few months later, the Education System of Aura-Soma was created. This Education System is operated by the International Academy of Colour Therapeutics (ASIACT) and is still based in England. Teachers, who learned from Vicky or her students, share the language of colour in 84 countries already. Although Aura-Soma is most popular in Japan, there are more then 50 teachers in Australia and there are also teachers in all European countries. The internationally accredited courses build on each other so they are accessible and interchangeable across international borders. In a truly global community, if you have started your education in Japan, you can easily continue it in Germany.

The knowledge that the bottles share is accessible to all of us as we follow our inner wisdom and choose the four Equilibrium bottles we are drawn to. Our choices express our soul's mission and purpose, the challenges we face to gain more wisdom, and remind us that we all have our own greatest gifts to use in achieving our goals. The Aura-Soma system's therapeutic purpose is to recognise our Soul's wounds and gifts and help us use our gifts to heal our wounds. It's main philosophy is "there is no other dis-ease other than our unbalanced Soul." Everything is the result of that, manifested in the body or in the mind.

The colours we choose reflect aspects of our personality. Someone who loves red, wears and chooses red all the time, deals differently with changes in life than someone who loves blue.

A certified Practitioner helps to translate the chosen colours into a story of the person's journey.

The consultation is about an hour-long discussion between the Practitioner, the Client and the four chosen Equilibrium bottles. The full set has 106 colour combinations at this point. Based on this conversation, the Client has the option of using one or more bottles or other Aura-Soma products, for the sake of their emotional re-balancing process. Aura-Soma is a non-intrusive, self-selective system. This way, the Client is able to recognise himself/herself on the deepest level and so will be able to decide if he/she needs to use any products, and how often, etc. All products are made in Tetford, England in the very same way Vicky Wall made them. The strictly organic herbs and plants are supplied by the Biodynamic Farm, surrounding the laboratory, and some are purchased from other highly energised farms around the world.

The herbal energies, absorbed by our skin, start to act on our physical body, and on all other levels of our subtle anatomy. For example, a red oil gives us more grounding, we feel more stable, strong and active. A yellow substance makes us more focused, gives us extra mental energy to study or focus on something important. Turquoise helps creativity, expression of our emotions in art work or in our words, etc.

I discovered the System of Aura-Soma in 1997 in Hungary. The very first translated books were published in Hungarian at that time, and a lot of us felt attracted to the bottles immediately. My friend, Eva Hermann, and I took this opportunity, and organized the first courses by inviting teachers to Hungary from England. Our love of Colours, counselling, and of our clients just deepened through the years. We became Practitioners, later Distributors, and finally, in 2005, we published our book on the subject, A Feny esszenciaja - The Essence of Light (Eva Hermann and Orsolya Foldesi).

However, faith led me away from my homeland, by walking the way of St. James in the spring of 2005 (El Camino). I ended up falling in love with a Canadian, who became my husband. Now I'm here. My whole life has changed, except a few things: my commitment to the System Aura-Soma, my passion for the beautiful colours, and the urge to help others.

The system of Aura-Soma is not new to Canada. We have colleagues working in the Vancouver, BC area; some of them have been there for 20 years. However, it is relatively new to Ontario, where there are very few Registered Practitioners.
